cruq Notes

Terms

Written to be read. Have a lawyer check them against your jurisdiction before relying on them.

The service

cruq Notes joins Google Meet calls you point it at, captures a transcript from the meeting's live captions, and produces written notes from it. Captions are imperfect: names get mangled, cross-talk is lost, and quiet speakers are missed. The notes are a useful record, not a verbatim one, and should not be relied on as evidence of what was said.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for having the right to record the meetings you point the notetaker at, and for complying with the recording law that applies to you and to the other participants. The notetaker announces itself in every meeting it joins, which helps, but it does not discharge that obligation for you.

Use a Google account dedicated to the notetaker rather than a person's own account. Keep your own credentials to yourself; anyone with access to your workspace can read its transcripts.

Plans and payment

Plans are billed monthly in advance and include a monthly allowance of recorded minutes. When the allowance is used up, new meetings are skipped until the next period; nothing already recorded is lost.

You can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. We do not refund part-months.

Availability

We try to keep the notetaker working, but it depends on Google Meet, which changes without notice. We do not promise that every meeting will be joined or captured, and we are not liable for a meeting that was missed or a transcript that came out empty.

Ending it

You can delete your workspace at any time, which deletes its meetings, transcripts and paired session. We may suspend an account that is being used to record people without their knowledge, or that is not paying.

Changes

If we change these terms in a way that matters, we will tell account owners by email before it takes effect.
